Immunizations or vaccination are an artificial way of creating immunity to certain diseases. Using relatively harmless substances called antigens that come from or are similar to the components of microorganisms that cause the diseases. Immunizations have protected millions of children from potentially deadly diseases and saved thousands of lives. They are also known are one of the best means for protection against contagious diseases.

 

Each year in the United States alone up to 60,000 adults die from vaccines and diseasses that could have been prevented. Many people each year are dying from not being able to reach useful vaccines because their countries do not have the medicines needed for the vaccines or can not afford them.
